This paper focuses on the image processing part, includingthe image acquisition and model-based registration/adaptation.On the most abstract level, it can be separated into a hardwarepart, consisting of the construction of the camera basedinspection system, and a software part, consisting of the imageprocessing and model adaptation. Section II describes theinspection system and the image acquisition process. Imageprocessing techniques to automatically detect the thread aredescribed in Section III. A pipeline for the thread patternregistration and adaptation is proposed in Section IV. Thepresented inspection system does not only lay the foundationfor the automated computation of the CNC program, but canbe used as a standalone system for quality assurance

Automatic sewing machine has been broadly used in the household and industry. It provides a fast way to apply the pattern sewing on the cloth. Designer utilizes the computer software to create the new patter and convert it into the stitch coordinates to form the sewing path that can be read by the automatic sewing machine. This whole process results in the broidery CAD software system. In the conventional way of designing the sewing path, people place the pattern on a board with the grid covering on the surface of the board and record every stitch coordinate manually. The collection of each stitch coordinate forms the sewing path that can be input into the sewing machine. Nowadays, the implementation of the broidery CAD system provides a convenient way to develop the new sewing pattern . Designer selects the image figure and feeds into the system. Then, the system will convert the figure into the coordinate data automatically. This automatic conversion process greatly reduces the workload of the designing process and largely improves the accuracy of the coordinate data. The drawback of this system is less of communication between the CAD system and the user of the sewing machine due to the broidery CAD system installed solely on the designer’s computer. The user of the sewing machine can only select the sewing pattern provided by the pre-installed sewing path on the sewing machine. This one-way functionality of the sewing machine will be longer satisfying the ever-increasing desires from the users. This paper will propose a diverse way to the design process that utilize the concept of the cloud computation to setup a platform for the designing process to involve multi- users on the designing process. This will increase greatly on the quality and diversity of the sewing pattern.

According to the requirements of one industrial sewing machine (ISM) manufacture, a kind of digital servo system for ISM has been designed in this paper. First of all, SVPWM has been analyzed in driving Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (PMSM) carefully. Afterwards, a reliable method adopted for both speed and position measurement without photoelectric encoder has been presented. Then, considering about the speed regulating for the servo system, nonlinear PI control algorithm with the control strategy of single closed loop has been proposed. And meanwhile, a `Five Steps' algorithm for needle location of the system has been discussed in detail. At last, with both simulation and test results, the validity and veracity of the control strategies for motor driving, motor speed regulating and needle location of ISM can be proved effectively.
