Broidery CAD software has been widely used in the sewing pattern design
by the broidery industry. All the Broidery CAD software is installed
onto the computer of the swing machine company that offers the designing
tool solely for the sewing pattern designer. The users of the swing
machine are rejected by using the pattern design software due to no
connection between the sewing machine and the computer loaded with the
broidery CAD software. The swing machine users can not obtain the
instant response from the broidery company. In this study, we propose an
integrating real-time sewing path designing system that based on the
concept of the cloud computing to allow different sewing machine users
with different operating system to be able to connect to the company
server to either retrieve the sewing path data or upload the new swing
image or pattern by the Internet communication. The proposed system
includes an application server that will perform the calculation
function of converting the user desired sewing pattern into the sewing
path and the stitch coordinates that can be fed into the sewing machine.
The proposed system will change the conventional single-directional way
of using the sewing pattern design process. By the cloud computing
server, multiple users can share the sewing path data and modify the
existing sewing path in the real-time manner. This provides a new way to
solve the problem with no communication between designer and user and
offer a creative way to enhance the functionality of the broidery
machine.

Nowadays, the implementation of the broidery CAD system provides a convenient way to develop the new sewing pattern. Designer selects the image figure and feeds into the system. This automatic conversion process greatly reduces the workload of the designing process and largely improves the accuracy of the coordinate data. The drawback of this system is less of communication between the CAD system and the user of the sewing machine due to the broidery CAD system installed solely on the designer’s computer. The user of the sewing machine can only select the sewing pattern provided by the pre-installed sewing path on the sewing machine. This one-way functionality of the sewing machine will be longer satisfying the ever-increasing desires from the users. This paper will propose a diverse way to the design process that utilize the concept of the cloud computation to setup a platform for the designing process to involve multi- users on the designing process. This will increase greatly on the quality and diversity of the sewing pattern.

In the IT industry, the cloud computation provides a new way to process larger amount of data and provides much better services . The software-as-a-service (SaaS) shows the fundamental idea of the cloud computation that provides the usage of the software through the Internet. Supplier provides the service that is installed with the application software. The end-user requests the service on demand to the supplier’s server. Several examples of the service based on the cloud computation can be found from IBM, Google, Yohoo and Microsoft. The cloud computation change the conventional way of computer by not installing application software on the local computer that will reduce the hardware requirement of the local computer . This study will be based on the cloud computing to develop a real-time sewing path system.
